Each traveller is different: some are thrilled to get on a plane, some are so used to fly that they don’t mind accumulated physiological fatigue, others experience the stress of moving, jet-lag, airports changing flight times with discomfort. Know yourself first.
How do you respond to fatigue? Are you able to easily fall asleep while flying? Do you have time to rest once you reach your destination? Try not to ask too much to your body with a little foresight.
Choose your seat in advance.
Aisle: If you need freedom of moving, stand up and stretch your legs when the seat belt alarm is off, you are definitely an aisle person.
Window: Choose a window seat if you’d rather enjoy the beautiful view from up there.
Emergency exit: If you are experienced travellers, taller than average and more athletic, you may get an exit row seat on demand, where the legroom is more generous.
Tips for relaxing you should try.
It may be obvious, but is good for everyone. Drink plenty of water and stay well hydrated. You can also try chamomile, valerian, lemon balm and hawthorn. There are also some breathing techniques, yoga and, why not, read a good book.
Travel with your own pillow or buy one at the airport. You’ve got plenty of choices: foam, memory foam, inflatable… Choose the best one for your cervical support. Keeping good posture during your flight is the key to relax both body and mind.
That’s all. Very easy, really. Read this article if you’re not experienced travellers and you will find useful suggestions to relax while flying.
