Frankfurt Book Fair 2024: Italy as Guest of Honour

Italy will be the long-awaited Guest of Honour for the Frankfurt fair’s 76th year, with over one hundred authors invited, including Dacia Maraini, Claudio Magris and Alessandro Baricco. The slogan chosen for Italy’s participation in the 2024 fair is ‘Roots in the future’ (Radici nel futuro), which aims to showcase culture as a space where tradition and modernity can meet and allow different sensitivities to engage with one another.

In an agenda packed with meetings and content, Daniele Mencarelli and Emanuele Trevi will talk about absence, Susanna Tamaro and Stefano Zecchi about beauty, Carlo Rovelli about the apocalypse, Sandro Veronesi about chaos, Massimo Sandal about science, Alessandro D’Avenia about classics, Alessandro Barbero and Aldo Cazzullo about stories, Francesca Melandri about care, Valeria Parrella about storytelling, and Nicola Lagioia about places.

The Guests of Honour for the next few years will be the Philippines in 2025, followed by the Czech Republic in 2026 and Chile in 2027. For more information and tickets, you can visit the website https://www.buchmesse.de/en
